Welcome & Why This Exists
AILmanac is a free, community-built almanac for getting the most out of Claude — and any AI. An almanac is a reference you come back to: complete, plain-spoken, and kept current. That's the goal here.
Who this is for
Everyone, on purpose — and we tell you the level of every page so you never feel lost or talked down to:
- Beginner You've barely used AI and want a guaranteed first win.
- Intermediate You use Claude already and want noticeably better results.
- Advanced You build with Claude Code, the API, agents, and MCP.
What makes this different
There are excellent resources already (see the Landscape Map). AILmanac is not a link dump and not a copy of the official docs. It is:
- Opinionated — we tell you the one recommended way, then the alternatives.
- Level-tagged — every page is badged so you read what's right for you.
- Template-rich — copy-paste starters you can use in 30 seconds.
- Honest about freshness — facts that change (model names, prices, features) carry a "last verified" date and a link to the source.
What this is NOT
:::warning The official docs are the source of truth When AILmanac and the official Anthropic documentation disagree, the official docs win. AI tools change fast; we work hard to stay current, but always confirm anything critical against the source we link to. :::
We also don't store your data, can't see your account, and won't make decisions for you on high-stakes work — see Responsible Use.
Three ways in
- Brand new? → Your First 5 Minutes
- Want a plan? → Choose a Learning Path
- Confused by a term? → Glossary
Help it grow
AILmanac stays complete because people add to it. Found a gap, an error, or something newly shipped? Contributing takes 10 minutes.
