Claude on Mobile

Beginner

Claude isn't just a desktop tab. The iOS and Android apps put it in your pocket — ideal for capturing ideas, quick questions, and voice on the go.

What mobile is great for

  • Capture on the move. A thought in the elevator, a photo of a whiteboard, a quick "summarize this" — mobile shines for input you'd lose otherwise.
  • Voice-first. Talking is often faster than typing on a phone — see Voice Mode.
  • Photos & screenshots. Snap a menu, a form, an error message, a sign, and ask about it (multimodal input).
  • Continuity. Conversations and Projects sync, so you can start on mobile and finish on desktop.

What's better on desktop

  • Long-form writing and editing.
  • Working with big documents or lots of files.
  • Artifacts and anything where screen space helps.
  • Developer work (Claude Code is desktop/CLI).

A nice mobile workflow

Capture by voice → refine on screen. Brain-dump a messy idea by voice while walking, then later ask Claude to "turn that transcript into a clean outline." The phone gathers raw material; you polish anywhere.

:::tip Use the share sheet On mobile you can often share text/links/images straight into Claude from other apps — a fast way to ask "summarize this" without copy-paste. :::
